Keira Knightley's new film, A Dangerous Method (with Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen) is one of the most anticipated films of this year and is set to make its festival debut and premiere in both The Venice Film Festival (August 31st-Sept. 10th), which is in competition and Toronto International Film Festival (Sept. 8th-18th), which it'll have its gala North American premiere. Synopsis
On the eve of World War I, Zurich and Vienna are the setting for a darktale of sexual and intellectual discovery. Drawn from true-life events,A Dangerous Method takes a glimpse into the turbulent relationshipsbetween fledgling psychiatrist Carl Jung, his mentor Sigmund Freud andSabina Spielrein, the troubled but beautiful young woman who comesbetween them. Into the mix comes Otto Gross, a debauched patient who isdetermined to push the boundaries. In this exploration of sensuality,ambition and deceit set the scene for the pivotal moment when Jung,Freud and Sabina come together and split apart, forever changing theface of modern thought. No U.S. theatrical release date yet, but Sony Pictures Classics (An Education, Made In Dagenham) is distributing this film for its U.S. release, which hopefully, will be announced very soon or during either its Venice or TIFF festival premieres.
