Pike said the harbour city was chosen for the world premiere of the British film because Atkinson has so many fans in Australia.
"(Also) I think it did very well, the first one out here, so I think we wanted to open somewhere where we'd be guaranteed a warm reception, which is certainly true of today," she said.
Pike was not just referring to the crowds of cheering fans but the sunshine and blue skies they were blessed with.
